.25 cal 131g .330G7 bullet from Blackjack Bullets for you to drool on ...

It is good to know. Following a companies recommendation is smart. I think a 7 twist is fast for the speed demon cartridges. I'll be lucky to get 3100 from my 25-284. I'm happy with those numbers tho for what I'll use it for with the 131/133/135s.

Depending on barrel length with R26 you should hit 3100 FPS.

Ok. I'm 25" at 3160 FPS. Half MOA or better out to 600 yds. In more capable hands I think it would do better.

Actually I'm right at 24.5" to be exact. Should be close to 3100 then as you said. Bought the 25-284 BJ reamer. Says .131 freebore. Thinking it's more. I ran the OAL gauge in it and the 131 bullet is barely in the case when it's measured. Should be fine but they'll be a jump for sure.

I am running a 25 PRC with the blackjack at 3260. 1:7, 25" barrel, 59gr of Retumbo, ADG brass. I was able to push it faster but they start coming apart a little over 3300. Never had one come apart when held under 3300. The 25-284 should reach 3200 without much trouble if using Lapua brass and at least a 24" barrel. Was not able to improve on the Retumbo; tried RL26 and H1000. Having good luck substituting N565 for Retumbo but did not have N565 when working up the 25 PRC load. Plan to see how the 135 Bergers perform in the PRC soon.

My 257Bee is pushing the Blackjacks at 3305 FPS with 67.9 Gr of Retumbo 7.5 twist. None have disintegrated and on a calm day will print a 4" group at 700 yds, that's as far as I've had a chance to shot it.
I didn't take pic of the 700 yard group the pic is at 100 after break in.

Great info. Thanks for sharing

The main load in my 25SST is 58gr of H-1000 pushing the 131gr at 3170fps. The barrel is a 7.25-7.12" Rock creek slight gain twist. It has over 1200 rounds now and and the 131s still hold together when being pushed at 3355fps with 63gr of N570. Used to be 3385fps but the barrel has lost some velocity as the round count has increased.

Pretty decent load of powder. Didn't realize the SST had that kind of case capacity. Figured it was pretty close to the .284 capacity. Quite a bit more it appears.

It's compressed with N570. Off the top of my head I think case capacity H2O is 70.2gr. It will smoke a 25-284 with the heavy's.

Anybody running H4831sc in their 25-284s ? Starting out with some 110 ELDX bullets for initial shooting and zeroing before I step into the 131s and RL26. Starting at 50 grains and loaded up to 56 grains. Headed out in the next couple days when weather improves. Thanks.
