I was looking at my Nosler manual 6 and found a load for a 25-06 that interested me. Has anyone tries this load 57.5 gr of Retumbo and either a 120 or a 115 gr bullet? Says it will be cooking 3175 fps. then with a 110 gr, it will be going 3267 fps. Sounds fast but is it accurate and will have to try in my gun but want to know if anyone else uses the same load.

Hello, i been a lurker here for a long time and supose i should start posting sooner or later. I have not used retumbo yet , my fave in my 06 is 100 gr nosler b-tips and rl 19 and if memory serves me right i use 52.5 gr. I have tried rl22 as well as a couple of others and also 115 gr b tips as well but my particular rifle likes the 100 gr. Have now switched to sierra match kings and game kings just to try somethin different but i think my rifle prefers nosler. The above load has given me 5 shot groups of .384" @ 100 yards.I say give the retumbo a try, if your like me i change things up all the time just to see if i can gain a lil more out of it.

WELCOME ABOARD!!! I have been playing around like that with my .270 Win . I have RL19 and H4350 and 4831 SC all have their certain load for my guns but I have never tried the Retombo. I see some loads for the .270 using it so I will get some. I have been looking at a load with 110 accubonds and the 100 gr b tips and 115 gr b tips. Have you had any bad experience with the nosler b tips? I've head good and bad. I picked up some the other day I about fell over when I looked and they ran 16.95 for a box about 10 bucks cheaper than the part. and acc, bonds. Hope to see more posts from you. I have gained alot of knowledge just reading and asking questions.

No problems at all i have shot prolly 1500 noslers so far but the cost is why i am trying the sierra's however when they are gone im goin back to the noslers cause the rifles i have now prefer them.

I'm a big fan of Retumbo in the 25-06 and I even use it with 100 grain bullets. It provides super accurate performance in my Ruger #1V.

I have a Mossberg 4x4 25-06 and have been using a max. load of 51 grains of IMR 4350 behind a Nosler 100 gr. Bt,and at 100 yards I can lay a quarter over a 3 shot group. I don't know if you have any IMR 4350,but if you do you might give it a try.

Flash how many grains of retumbo you cooking with and have you tried other gr. weights.

Gonewest Nosler reloading guide no.6 lists 51 grains as max. load for 100 grain Ballistic tip,and Partition.Load density is 84% for 3,352 fps. It shot so good that I didn't even try rl22,but did try retumbo and just couldn't get the accuracy that IMR 4350 gave me.

Sorry I was looking at a heavier gr. bullet data your right I have to watch that. Do you like the ball. tips?

I have some Retumbo that I use in my 264 Win mag that is great but I have not tried it in my 25-06. I use 49 grs IMR 4350 and the 117 Sierra Pro Hunter with a CCI 250 primer and a Rem case and get 3000 fps from 26" Shilen barrel Rem 700 and 1/4" MOA grouping. If you can hold solid it will shoot through the same hole at 100 yards. I can't bring myself to start monkeying with another load when that one shoots so well. I have killed every deer I have ever shot at any distance over about 20 years with this rifle. So if it ain't broke I don't try to fix it. :D 99.9% of the time they drop in their tracks also.

I haven't shot any game with them yet, only paper. I think they will do fine on coyotes and deer if I stay behind the front leg. I've got about 200 Sierra gameking 90 grain BTHP that I'm going to sell, just couldn't get them to shoot as good as the Nosler.

I load between 58-61 grains of Retumbo depending on the bullet. I do not find it necessary to use magnum primers. The CCI 200 do just fine.

I have a Ruger #1 that I shoot the 110 AB's out of with max load of Retumbo. Velocity is about 3200 - 3250 (I would have to go back and look) and accuracy is under 1". My best groups however are with H4350 at about 3000fps. That applies to both 110 accubonds and Hornady SST's.
