Has anyone tried this combination? Going to be working up a load for a new Browning Xbolt with 24inch barrel. Can't find any data on this.

I got a little more velocity with 7828 compared to H1000. But 7828 was doing some very weird things as far a temp instability and over pressure. That does not work for me here in Southern Manitoba Canada. I need temp stable powders because I can have a 50-60 celcius temp swing from summer to winter. August can be plus 30C. Winter can be -30C.

I have two 25/06 rifles, and IMR 4831 has been a great powder in both, as well as the CCI 250 primer.

yeah, that's why I want to try the 4955. They market it as being temperature stable and reduced fouling. Being a relatively new powder, I realize that I get to be one of the guinea pigs.

I've heard 4831 is good in 25-06. I'm going to experiment with that also. Do you have a load with the 4831 and 115 gr. Bergers? If so, how many grains?

I have used the 115 Berger, and the 117 Sierra Game king. With both I've used 51grs of IMR 4831 with a CCI 250 and a R.P. case. The Berger get me 2940 ft/sec ( 22" tube ) with groups that average .725 at 100 yds. The 117 gr Sierra's an average of 2979 ft/sec with average groups of .850. All these groups are 5 shots and shot with my Model 1500 S&W. These loads are safe in my rifle, but you know the drill, back off 10% and work up. I've also used the Rem 9 1/2 M primer which also gave great results, but overall in both of my rifles the CCI 250 gave the better accuracy combined with velocity.

gb, 4955 is like H4831 in burn rate. We use H4831SC with the 115 Berger getting very good accuracy. Good luck

I use IMR7977 with HbN coated 115 Berger's in a Savage 116 with their 26" fluted varmint contour barrel.

58.5 grains IMR7977
CCI BR2
.010" Jump
Shoots under 0.5 MOA with the best going 0.367" and an average velocity of 3231fps. In a 24" pipe I would think 3150-3175 is possible.

I am getting ready to order a Cooper-52 in 25-06 AI and am wondering what the twist rate is for your rifles? Everything I have read suggests that for the Berger 115gr VLD, 1 in 9 is optimum.
