I am considering re-barreling one of my old rifles to the 6.5x284 Norma. I want to get a 1 in 8.5 twist barrel to shoot the 130gr accubond bullets. What kind of speed should I expect from a 24" barrel? Most of the reloading manuals show that 2900-3000 should be attainable but I wondered if anyone had tried one with this short a barrel.
