This is a hunting rig. I have no shot the Arken yet, but took it to the range and compared it to my Burris Veracity 3x15x50. The glass wasn't as bright and crisp, but it was plenty good to see the things I plan to shoot with this rifle. For the price it is a good value with alot of good features. Assuming it holds a zero and is repeatable with turret use it will be a great value for a $400 scope.

I have a different opinion of grand slams. My dad shot a cow elk with 200gr grand slams in a 300 weatherby. He shot her 4 times at 40-60 yards before she finally fell down. I even shot her once with this 338 win mag I am starting to work on. Mine was placed to far back with a 275gr speer semi-spitzer and it punched thru without expansion. She was running on adrenaline, but she took a hell of alot of impact before she went down. None of the Grand slams exited. The lungs and liver were complete soup in the chest cavity though. Probably a fluke, but still never shot those bullets again.
It is just tough to find those bullets right now!

With 338 bullets out of a 338federal, I did a lot of ballistic testing with alternating wet phone books and milk jugs.
The 215Game kings are the only thing I could NOT stop with a series of 5 jugs/books. It zipped through my entire setup and only started to expand possibly on jug 5.

This! @Hoss50 I, too, have a Ruger M77 MKII in .338 WM, and the 225g NAB (I tried the 250 but do not have enough COAL and powder capacity to take advantage of it) was the best I have loaded for it.

Arken scopes have a lifetime guarantee and also a tracking guarantee. Mine is working just fine. I'm sure yours will too.

..200 Barnes X-bullet or Nosler Partition in 225....your spending thousands already, why worry about $2.00 bullets ??
I have and a lot with each. Not only my own but others I load for from the quarter bore to 338. For terminal performance on elk the partitions and Hammers are very close. The difference being in the past five seasons we've never recovered a Hammer and I haven't found a rifle yet that they don't shoot exceptional from. To date, I've only ran the Hammer Hunters and the majority of the rifles I load for are Weatherby's and a few RUMS. We've taken as few as six elk per season to as many as 15 and wouldn't dare to guess the number of mule deer and whitetails and have yet to see a Hammer fail. My suggestion to the OP was the 225 Shock Hammer (although I've never loaded or shot an animal with them), all reports are they are as easy to tune as the Hammer Hunters and because of the slower MV than I'm used to running Within his parameters it would be the most dependable given any shot angle.
Which 338 Hammer bullet do you use? Is it out of a 338 RUM?

A little lighter than you asked for but the 213g Hammer hunter. I took 2 elk last year with these and both were DRT with one shot.
