223 Savage Re-barrel

I have a Savage Model 10 in 223, my question is, what larger caliber can I re-barrel this action to ? I would like to make it a 243, is that possible ? 7mm-08 ?

Yes you can and its easy, change out your barrel, bolt head, mag and follower and you are all done

If you don't mind single shot, you can go as big as a magnum bolthead will utilize.

You could turn it into a 338 Edge if you wanted.

Here is my 338 Edge built on a Savage long/short action.

Great info, thank you guys. Nice Edge, don't want to go that big, already have a 300 Win Mag build in the works. I'm leaning towards a 7mm-08 build on this action, now it's time to start gathering parts, thanks again,

+1 on the 284 - a LOT better than the 7/08.
