SOLD/EXPIRED 223 Remington Ruckus Compact Manners

Grabbed my postal scale, 8lbs 4oz is the weight without scope or suppressor attached. The adj compact stock has the combo bedding chassis and bottom metal built in adding a few ounces

Manners quoted the weight of a gen 1 chassis as 0.62 lbs without mag, thats about 10oz, so if you built one without a chassis and added a Hawkins Precision Hunter DBM set up and bedded it with devcon or similar, you might be able to save 4-6 ounces, if your going some form of a mag feed set up. For those inquiring minds…

I'm just curious when weight started to matter so much? Most hunters are really concerned about an extra 6 pounds on a rifle, this rifle being a 223 probably won't be packed a ton, maybe it's you're dedicated coyote rifle and you live out west, it might get packed miles....... the point is if you do your research on the components, you can figure it to within a few ounces. Sorry I butted in.

I think we can all just keep our opinions to ourselves and trust that a grown man is asking questions because he needs the answers. Most of the points here are moot because its speculation about another persons inquiries and that's laughable. Nobody minds if you dont care about 6 ounces so why do you care so much if another guy does? If you don't care about weight than move on. Honestly, this petty back and forth about weight is just that. A petty gripe. Some guys ask about weight some guys don't. Don't let it sour your cereal.

Zach, thanks for posting the weight. It's too heavy for any of the shooters in my herd but it should make someone a fine rifle.
We should all move on and get this thread back on track for Zach!

It doesn't bother me either way, but it is funny that it's the first question asked always. Zach has some sweet rifles on here so wanted to give him a bump more than anything!

I wouldn't buy rifle without knowing the weight. I have bought way too many over the years that went on down the road because they were too heavy. Everyone has different opinion about how heavy is too heavy. For me it's 7 lbs bare, I am in my 60s and heavier rifles don't work for me.

Everyone has their own opinions about weight, many valid, if your serious about buying a rifle then PM me, i'll never be in a shortage of time or information for you so you will make an informed decision. A short explaination of what your looking for and questions and i'm glad to get back with you. Ultimately if your not happy, i'm not happy.
So at this point lets end this thread and fore go further comments and opinions. I will repost the rifle at some point…everyone have a great holiday season, and good luck with what hunts remain.
Kind Regards
Z
