22 CM LG vs Small Primer Pocket Preference?

I run SRP Lapua brass in my creedmoor/308 family cartridges. Never had a hang fire using CCI 450s and extruded stick powder. If you pack a case full of ball powder you're asking for hang fires in cold temperatures, regardless of LRP vs SRP.

I Shoot a LOT of different Ball Powders, in my .22-250 ( WW 748 / H-380 ) 6 XC and 6.5 Creed ( StaBall 65 ) and Have NEVER had, a "Hang Fire" with, Win lge., CCI 200's or, Fed 210 M Primers.
And IMO, You'd have to have, an extremely EXPENSIVE, B-R Rifle with a "Perfect" Barrel, to tell, the Difference,.. in Accuracy

I'll just put this out there.
I run Federal or Winchester primers, moved away from CCI when availability was zero here.
With my own testing, those .373" case head cases really have no preference for brand, .17, .222 or .223, but the Winchester primers are hotter, and the Magnum Federal SRP is hotter than Winchester.
Moving to .473" cases, Winchester standard primers are hotter than other brands, and the Federal Magnum primer is very hot.
My precision loads using standard SRP primers all prefer the Winchester and all running Magnums prefer the Federal.

SRP, I have lots of them and they work fine, been using them in anything I can from 380acp to 308 for a LOOONG time.

I have never had a FTF or hangfire with any SRP down to 4°F. I shoot a lot of SRP when available in the smaller catridges based on .308Win parent case and down.
I have two .260AIs. Alpha .260 Rem brass for both. One is SRP and one is LRP. I have noticed zero difference in performance, accuracy, or velocity. When loading identical, they are pretty much identical.

The big benefits of SRP are these: availability of primers, longer lasting primer pockets.

Have you found it true? the high pressure difference in like brand cases?
Like i ran SRP to 46 grains before i found pressure signs but only 45gr in LRP.

I use CCI 450s in 6.5 Creed and 22 Creed (also 6mmBR & 6 Dasher) and have never had an issue. Pockets on SRP brass will last longer, especially if you load on the warm side.

Does it also take them longer (more pressure) before they show ejector dots, swipes, feel to bolt lift etc?

I don't know the answer to that question but I can say that I have over 10 reloads on many of those cases and the pockets are as tight as they were when new. I normally load to a max book velocity but rarely beyond that. Lots of shooters are shooting at much higher velocities and reporting good case life with SRP Alpha cases.

I don't really see signs of excess pressure on my primers for 2 reasons:
1. My bolts have been bushed and have tight tolerance firing pins
2. The CCI 450 primers have thick cups

Interesting. I have been using alpha srp brass in 6.5 Creed for a few years now but cannot load the same charge or get same speed as I fit in Starline lrp stuff and am curious if alpha lrp stuff runs the same or less than srp.
