I didn't take this bear but wanted to show what we have here in PA. The Clarion Co. bear was taken 5 mins. from my house. These weights are just from our just concluded 4 day rifle season. This does not include muzzleloader or the archery bear season. Before I retired as a PA Game Commission officer, I personally trapped and handled bear over 800 pounds live weight.

I'm in Lawrence county. I have been hunting Venango county for bear the last couple years but feel I may need to venture east a ways?

Most of the bear taken around here are on the river or on farmland along the river. Either the Clarion or the Allegheny.
