2023 Meat Pole

I had a mtn lion come through chasing deer while I was in a treestand with my bow. Stopped at 20 yards staring at me. I wanted to take the shot with the bow, but she never gave me a broadside shot so the pistol was second-best option. Sure, I wish she was larger (she was about 70 pounds), but she was by herself and legal and I'm looking forwards to trying mountain lion meat!View attachment 495631

Almost embarrassed to post my buck from 2 days ago. But it was a good one for my area in the pine Barrens of NJ. Was in a ground blind in the morning. Started slow but then a doe materialized out of no where then 3 minutes later this buck followed up on her and before he came into the opening he scent checked for a few minutes. Was cool watching that.
After a few more minutes waiting he presented a nice broadside shot at 25 yards. The Swhacker 150gr. 3" cut did its job.

Swhacker in then out.

Here's my year. Bear was back in April. Missed an elk on opening day. Cow tag. Hunted hard for another 7 days and never got in range of another cow. Would have had a really nice 6point if I'd of had that tag haha. Had a lot of fun this season. The dogs helped pack out the remainder of my bear that was 3 miles back.

My 13 year old has had a good year so far using his Mathews craze II.

Edit. He shot, trailed, loaded, and skinned the big hog by himself, while I was in New Mexico chasin elk. We will do a shoulder mount on that pig. 250lbs.

IMHO, it's fantastic!!

I've been intentionally avoiding this thread, was a bit worried about the content of a thread asking a mostly male user forum, about their 'meat pole'.
Glad to see it isn't bad after all.
Thanks for not posting pictures of your meat poles guys.

I may be alone, but don't see any reason for this kind of comment!!
