Please excuse my ignorance but what is a dod class?

Probably DOD means Department of Defense. In this case likely it is Naval Air Station land. The Nevada regulations show this: '* There are portions of Unit 181 in Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon where public access is restricted. To hunt in the NAS portions of Unit 181, the tagholder is required to attend a NAS hunter safety briefing."

If he's the "only tag in the unit" he's not hunting 181, but multiple units require DOD classes.

We saw four sheep yesterday. One mature ram. Probably 150's
Cold and windy probably 35 mph

Unit 252

A good friend killed a book ram in that unit but that was many years ago. He said rams would wander back and forth from the military base so you never knew what was going to show up.
