Hey I can't get any of these for my upcoming Colorado elk hunt. The round is a 7-300 norma improved. Rifle is a savage target 112 single with a 28" Oregon mountain barrel 5r 8 tw. What would be the next best thing you would use in the 185 to 195 class of bullet?

I have had good luck with 195's in a 28 nosler. Some people had said to try Sierra match kings because they got good results. I'm presently playing with 190 A tips. I haven't shot any mono's out of it because I do take shots beyond a 1000 and the extra velocity of a lighter bullet did not over ride a heavier high BC bullet at yardage beyond. If you are going to limit below 1000 I would not be afraid to try a mono. Below is a 5 shot group at 100 with 190 A tips and a cold bore shot.
