REM 700, 300 WM, Bartlein 5R 1:10 twist.Moa,
Please share the rest of your rifle twist, primer, notes, etc info so I can post it
I ran 180's with 100.0 grs. Retumbo in my 300 RUM for years. Was very accurate. 3360 fps. 26 in. barrel. I dropped down to 99.0 grs. Later on. Have a 28 in. 5R 1 in 10 twist Bartlien barrel on it now. Still experimenting. 215 Bergers 3284 with N570. 180 Hammer with H1000 3443. Have some 180 HH loaded with Retumbo and RL26 to try this week. Same in 300 Win Mag.I've been shooting 180 grn Accubonds out of a 300 RUM at 3390 fps with 100.1 grns Retumbo. Tried R26 and it was too temp sensitive. I'd start with Retumbo if you have it…
I'm sorry. The 3339 was with 80.5 grs. RL26 and I only chono'd one round. I was out before I remembered to. I backed down to 80.0 grs.. Still shoots as accurate. Shooting tomorrow. I'll chrono 5 rounds and maybe other promising loads. Have some 181 to test in 300 RUM and 124 in 6.5 PRC again.I got 3339 fps with 300 win. mag. and 180 Hammer and 80.0 grs. RL26 like I said. Very accurate. Just loaded some 180 with RL23 like you said. Also loaded some 300 RUM 180 with Retumbo, H1000 and RL26. I don't know yet about RL23 in it...
H 1000I finally took the plunge and ordered some Hammer Hunters the other day. The load data thread has been helpful, and I chose the 180HH for my 300 Win Mag (Christensen Ridgeline 26" 1:10) due to the velocities that people were reporting. It looks like RL26 is the clear winner for velocities with that combination, with some guys pushing Wby/RUM speeds, but I've heard that RL26 can do some goofy things at temp. Being that it's 90+ degrees in MT right now, do I load with RL26 until I see pressure, back off a grain, and then assume that it will be safe at all temps?
Or do I stick with H1000, Retumbo, or even H4350?
Thanks for any insight you guys might have @ButterBean @GLTaylor @RockyMtnMT (<-assuming you're packing for your trip and not looking at LRH but tagged you anyways Steve)
