Hi, l've had 2 17 Remingtons, a Harrington Richards with a Sako action, and a BSA martini action wildcat, both are tack drivers and used mainly for fox shooting, they are "in my opinion" the most accurate rifles l've ever owned, but I clean after every five rounds to prolong barrel life, have just finished the powder l use which is no longer in production, ADI2201(Australian Defence Industries powder).
I have found that the 17 is fantastic on all thin skinned animals that are head shot but is prone to deflection in the wind and is good for 800 metres on a breezless night.
For a very small calibre, the 17 is the best of them, if you can get one and get it to shoot, l guarantee that you will fall in love with it, very fast, flat shooting and cheap to run.
