Its actually a tipped interlok. Same as other Hornadys interlock bullets except with super shock tip SSTI did not know that. Thanks for the 411
What velocity were you shooting that 123 at? I was half tempted to try them for myself at about 3050fps. Don't need alot of penetration for deer.SST worked extremely well for us years ago when we hunted "traditional ranges" 500<IN.
In particular the 123 grain SST out of creedmoor worked wonders. (We still have customers running factory 165 loads out of 30-06 every year)
They're not much more then a tipped interlock - pop the deer's air bags and he aint goin' far!
Miss small. Meat damage from SST misplacement can be cataclysmic. Accurate bullet but dont flinch.I picked up a couple boxes of 30 caliber 165 grain SSTs to load over some H4350 for my .30-06.
Anyone got good reviews of the SSTs for deer sized game?
I've used the SST in the .270 with good luck - good straight/flat shooter.I picked up a couple boxes of 30 caliber 165 grain SSTs to load over some H4350 for my .30-06.
