155 grain Bergers

Out of a WSM, I think the 215's would give more effective range in terms of expansion velocity. Probably close to 100 yds more because you can push them 100-150 fps faster than the 230's. In the RUM, the 230's have enough velocity and range to catch the 215's down range.

Out of a 24" barrel, I would definitely be looking at RL17 as the go to powder. It's hard to dismiss an additional 150-200 fps.

I have not been able to get a good load with R17, I am basically using the load data for a 220g barnes TSX and H1000. To say it has worked out well is an understatment.

H1000 is a bit slow for the WSM but for the 220 TSX I suppose it could work well and glad it is for you. Interesting, what is your load capacity?

I have to correct myself I am using H4350 and at 61g I have slight cratering, I have not had a chance to run the numbers yet. Barns states 2600 ish for there 220g solid at 61g.

You should have a some room in the case, have you tried H4831sc?

You might also consider the 180 E-Tip. 67 gr of H4350 was getting me 3000 fps (3200 fps with RL17) which will get you farther down range than the 220 TSX, if your interested in increasing your range.

Better yet, you might try CEB's. They get a little better velocity than the E-Tips or the Barnes and have much better BC's. The 180 C21's would be my recommendation. The 200 C22's probably wont stabilize in a 10 twist at lower elevations.

No I have not, I can not even shoot right now due to the start of archery season. I am a heavy bullet fan, in my opinion 180g bullets belong in 30-06/308 sized rounds. I have a bunch of 200g ttsx/200g accubonds for this rifle, I really tried the 230g on a whim and after 6 rounds figured, I can not get any luckier than this, so why not.
