140gr Berger Elite Hunter issue. Anyone experience this?

We've HAD,. 3 Complete "Pass Thru's" and, inside Lung's were Jello with, 140 grain Berger Classic Hunters, launched at, 3,175 FPS, on Elk and Antelope.
The Bullets, went Through,.. BOTH, Hides, upper Shoulder Blades, Shoulder Meat, etc. with, a .270 WSM !
Berger Hunting Bullets, ARE, much, TOUGHER than, most folks, realize.
DON'T Believe,.. everything, you read,.. on the Internet !

I have seen burgers hitting elk at under 300 yards dead center sholder penetrating to off side. Dead on the spot. In the last 20+ years have not had a bad experience with them . Shooting 7 mm 28 nosler and 6.5 SAUM.

140gr Berger elite hunter out of a 6.5prc. Hunting Cow elk but also had an either sex mule deer tag. Shot a doe at 110 yards. Perfectly through the ribs. Dropped like a stone. When I opened her up the entire internal cavity had been scrambled. Bullet came apart and the concussion combined with bullet fragments tore through the diaphragm. Gut material, plant bits and the like had sucked out the exit hole. I found gut material forced into the meat along the spine. Exit wound was the size of a quarter. Has anyone experienced this? Bullet was right behind the shoulders right through the middle. Scared to use these again if they do anything similar. Appreciate any thoughts. thanks

Yup same thing last two weeks ago. Boy was shooting 6mm 115gn- so slightly smaller destruction, but they do terrible damage and drop them on the spot almost every time. Only had one big buck made it about 25 yards, only cause the wife center punched the liver. The biggest piece of liver I found was a size of a golf ball.

My brother and nephews are big believers in the 30 cal 155g Berger VLD Hunting bullet shot out of 308 Winchesters. They have killed quite a few hogs and white tails with the above bullet.

I suspect at somewhat milder velocity they behave quite well.?

Most seem to anyhow. That extra diameter does some magic.!

Phil, our MV is 2900. Brother shot a large Sow at 550 yards we had been hunting for three years, one shot and she was laying in her tracks with a 155g Berger vldh. He had to get his tractor to get the sow out of the woods.
