My son finally sealed the deal this weekend. I am pretty impressed with the 123 ELDM performance at short barrel (16") 6.5CM velocities.
1/4 away shot entered at the front lobe of the liver and traversed the chest cavity length wise into the lungs and heart, making soup and minced meat. It left liver and lung chunks throughout the 30yard blood trail.
I didn't do a full necropsy, so I don't know retained weight or where it ended up. But I did find a large amount of blood shot at the neck, at the front of the right shoulder blade, when I lopped its head off; so I assume the bullet or part of it made it to that location. Pretty good penetration considering. 18-20"? You be the judge.
I did cut a hole in the ribs to retrieve what was left of the heart and inspect the lungs which were no longer a solid mass.
The shot was 110yards (2600+fps impact velocity?). At that velocity, and with the damage that presented, it's obvious to me that the bullet fragmented. That said, penetration was sufficient on a large dense pig that I'll keep that bullet in his mag for a while.
