You're making that final trip regardless to break down and pack out camp most likely.

Nah. I'm not speculating.

When I'm close to camp with the kill, I will take camp with me on the first quartering. If I'm far from camp I'll pick camp up with the last of the packout. Mostly because I'm paranoid about getting elk meat cool fast.

but I definitely don't drop it all off at the truck and come back for camp. I immediately want to leave and get more dry ice for the meat and start heading back home.
