Well keep in mind the bullet will be a factor.
I would say the 7mm-08 or the 270. Remember the Swedes have killed a lot of large animals with the 6.5 Swede which has less than the creedmore.
I'd say for you distance the 7mm with a hammer bullet would be perfect. I hunt everything up to elk with my creed and a 124gr hammer for your distance. After that I reach for a larger caliber. And it's a very light zero recoil rifle. And the 7mm-08 is right in that ballpark.

Might want to rethink the Swede having less than the Creedmoor.....just saying

Pretty Happy with, my .270 WSM and 140 AccuBond's going, 3,150 FPS or, 140 Berger Classic's @ 3,185 FPS.
There's NO Brake, on my Tikka T-3, SS, 24" at, 7 Pounds, 10 ounces with, a 4.5 x 14 Scope, mt's, rings, etc.
EZ to carry, in a Kifaru Gun Bearer with, my EXO Pack, shooting stix and Trekking poles.
Recoil IS, very "manageable" on the Bench for me at, 74 y/o and I DON'T hardly feel it at all, Practicing on steel plates or, shooting Game !
I have, STOMMPED 2 elk with it, so far and WILL use it for, Moose when, I draw, the Tag.
Tis' a little more than, a .270 Win BUT,.. it's FAST and FLAT ! I start thinking about,.. "Holdover" past,.. 350 Yards, with a 200 Yd, Zero !
PS; IF just hunting,.. Deer / Antelope, the 6.5 Creed is Plenty ( YUP, I have one of those, now, too ) ,.. another Tikka of, course !
ALL the Cart's mentioned "can" do it fine with, the RIGHT Bullet,.. BUT, the .270 WSM, ( like, the 7mm Rem Mag. ) WILL just, do IT,.. BETTER !
Especially with,.. Moose on the Menu !

I'll stand by that when comparing same manufacture same product line the 6.5 creed slightly outdoes the Swede.
In fact hsm factory loaded 140 grain has the creed at 2780 with the vld, and the Swede same bullet at 2630. Some factory loads are much close than that but all have the creed ahead so please explain why I should rethink my statement of fact.
Hand loads aside because we all know where that can go.
I have both so I'm not biased.
They are for all purposes equal which was my point. Ones not doing anything the other can't do.

Hi everyone, 300yrds is not longerange but I juste realise Im getting old and whant a light rifle to carry around on fine hunting. Got what I need for the longer shot.

Game will be white tail deer up to moose.

Dont whant to use a break on the rifle so thinking on light caliber.

I got die to load for 284win, 7mm08 but thinking about 270win and 243win too....

What will be your choice? Im open to other caliber too

Your op name being 284 win would be my assumption you might have 284 win if so and you load for it with busing dies you can bushing down for the 6.5-284 or 25 284 and might be able too use the same seat my competition 284 die works great on the smaller 284 parent case variables so the 6.5-284 might be the ticket no expense on dies

Out of your choices I'd go with any except the 243 win since you included moose up to 300 yards. I'd add 308 win and 30-06 to the mix because there are very common rounds and easy to load for. Light rifles in those calibers are also common and recoil isn't bad in a rifle that is properly set up.

You are correct sir, in Factory offerings the Swede is left behind because of old surplus rifles out there that can't handle the higher pressures. On the reloading side of things a modern chamber with he 6.5x55 runs right along with the Creedmoor. I have both old and new and reload appropriately for each. I also reload for the Creedmoor and know it's capabilities. They are both fine chamberings and would serve the OP well especially with a 160 RN Interlock for moose and my personal favorite for deer with the 135 Berger Classic Hunter. Not trying to start a fight, it just makes me chuckle when I hear the Creedmoor does more than the Swede.

BTW, the old 160s make great pig thumper as well!!!

I think any of those great cartridges are good to go with a heavy for calibre bullet. I would also try to use a powder that is not effected by cold temps. Have fun.

Just purchased a browning x bolt 6.8 western. Love the lightness and power of this round.
