The Athlon Rangecraft Chronograph - Will This Beat The Garmin Xero At Half The Price?

Over the past 25 years, going back to the GPS 12, I have found Garmin products to be very high quality. Have had a few of thier fish finders, GPS'S and dog collars, and can't recall a bad one.

So, I am willing to pay at least some premium for the name. My hope is that these other units are good and at least keep Garmin honest with pricing.

I like my athlon stuff. But you won't see me giving up a garmin to save a few hundred no matter how many say it's "as good". Garmin earned my $$ with a first to market innovative product that has been as perfect as a product can be. For me it's some of the best reloading $ I've spent.

I purchased a Garmin this past December, before that it was the old Pro Chrony and constantly fighting to use it during sunlight, my bench is shaded by time I get off work. Since I have purchased the Garmin, I can say it is absolutely the best for me, it is well worth the money. I have been using it each time I am out and never has it not picked up a shot. I trust the velocity more than the old sky screen chronograph, no more standing in front lining it up and then watching the shade begin to take over at my range. I almost purchased the Caldwell Velociradar just to save a 100.00, but decided to purchase what had the best ratings. Maybe Athlon will be just as good, only time will tell

Garmin launched its product perfectly in time and was able to command the pricing at that time. Labradar LX missed that opportunity big time.
I think it will come down to longevity. Garmin has the record and reputation.
LOL! I still have my Shooting Chrony F1 (optical), which still works. I also have the first-gen Labradar (DOPPLER RADAR) and the Caldwell Velociradar (CHIRP RADAR, which has not yet been fully explored). I used to be in the electronics industry in the 1980s, mostly in computer peripherals, and longevity in the electronics industry is uncompromising because innovations and technological advancements are always on the rise, as Athlon just displayed.

I got my Garmin for Christmas and the wind has been between 20 and 65 since that time. I haven't even tried it yet. Like @FEENIX . I still have my old Chrony and the bayonet. New is good. But I will wait on this one.
