You can only get a t-Rex tag if you hunt with a .223 or smaller.Wait your saying some of this thread was sarcastic

My uncle got a land owners tag. Killed his T with a 156 grainer running 3,150FPS with RL26 and SRP ADG cases. ES of 5 and SD of 2. Shoots quarter of 1/4MOA over 30 shots even in the wind. At 1200 yards he tucked it in right above the shoulder on a hard quartering to at a 30 degree up angle off his pack. You guessed it, with twice the energy of the 300 Win mag he got complete penetration with a baseball sized exit after breaking the off-side femur. Totally stoned him. DRT. Never even twitched. Totally a Booner too. Waiting on the drying period, but green-scored top 10.
I'd hate to see the taxidermist bill on that!

It's cheaper if you save the arms only.
He said he could get 3300 out of it but the accuracy node was at 3150. At 3300 it only shot half of 1/2MOA
He must have a slow barrel, or maybe only 20"
Yeah, he only kept the tusks from the mastodon for the same reason.
18" - you know he's shooting suppressed, and he can't worry about dragging a long barrel through the thick stuff while trying not to lose a sandal.
