Tough season for me but finally got some meat.

I hope you're fortunate enough to be passing that heritage on to your kids. I'm lucky to have a daughter and son-in-law and nephew and neice to hunt with. All of my hunting buddies my age have cancer, so their time is limited. I'm fortunate to have younger buddies to hunt with as well. Congratulations on your doe. I don't ever turn down a chance for meat.
Yes sir. My son got his first deer this year before I even thought about pulling a trigger.

I'm enjoying a cold bowl of tag soup. Freezer is empty not because I'm picky. It's just because the only deer that presented shot opportunities were bucks that did not meet the antler restriction. No complaints as I enjoyed good times afield with good friends and that is reward enough for me. Perhaps my luck will improve in post-Christmas flintlock season.

I wish you the best of luck sir! Drop a pic here if you get blessed.

That's awesome! Congrats
Can't wait for my own son to finally get his in a couple years, definitely looking forward to it
My son is autistic and loud noises and recoil bother him so this year I set up a 300bo with a suppressor for him and lined it up with 150 grain deer season XP. It did a fantastic job and zipped through the doe like butter, skipped off the ground, and cracked a tree like a major league ball bat. The doe went down in about 50 yards. Golf ball sized exit.
