There is a Limbsaver pad and a Limbsaver Air Tec, two different worlds in taming felt recoil. I use the Limbsaver Air Tec.
Just last week I received one to put on an XLR Element 4.0 magnesium with the C6 butt stock. Perfect fit. Took 5 minutes to swap out the stock Limbsaver (which is about 1/4" thick and essentially worthless for shootimg more than 6 to 9 rounds in a session with a 7PRC barreled action on the chassis). I haven't put an action back on the chassis to shoot it but a visual and physical inspection of the Backfire pad leads me to believe that it will work as advertised. So how would you rate the screwdriver-ready aspect of the backstop? If that's really true and it works okay, sounds way easier than grinding.
