Well, dad took a 350y shot at a white tail. He thought the steel leg of the feeder wasn't in his shot line, but apparently not! The deer went about 60y and expired quickly. About a 1" entry and 1" exit. Looks like the core of the bullet still had plenty of energy to get the job done. 300wsm 138 HHT going 3550 fps. Notice the sparks in the video!

That's pretty amazing. Deer was probably close to the feeder. I'd expect group size to deteriorate rapidly with distance after that kind of impact. I wonder what a Berger would have done. Maybe more of a shotgun pattern on the deer.

I have shot thru decent thickness of steel with a 220 Swift shooting soft 40 gr cup and core bullets. A copper bullet nearly four times as big at that speed is pretty serious medicine.

I did the same thing last year. Had a broke leg buck (hit on the highway) showing up. 287yrds with my 223AI, 85gr Berger LRHT. Through the buck and then hit the leg of the feeder. It didn't pass through the leg of the feeder, but it had already gone through 150# of deer😄

First deer i ever shot as a kid went through a little 1.5" sapling and then into the neck of a little 6 point. DRT with my little 222 and 50gr bullet I believe?

Friend of mine got a South Texas bull elk through a 2.5 inch mesquite limb a good bit away from the bull. 300 Wby shooting a 180 Accubond.
