Looking into buying a cva scout pistol for my wife and daughter to deer hunt with during alternative season. Thinking about going with a 350 legend but not sure about the recoil. Does anybody have one chambered in 350 legend?

Either going to get a 350 or a 243. I know the 243 will be fine but figured the 35 caliber bullet will have a little more knockdown power over the 243.

Back when I hunted with a rifle it was a 243 Win. Never lost an animal with it. Shots ranged from 30 to 350 yds. Always used good bullets, 85, 95, and 100 gr. Partitions. One worked as well as the other. Waited for the right shot.

Not sure what chambering they are available in,but a 7-08 would be the perfect compromise between energy and recoil. I personally think that the 350 would be a little stiff in the recoil department.

In available chamberings I believe I have seen 243 Winchester, 6.5 Grendel, 350 Legend, and 300BO.
I just looked at a NEW 350 Legend that my local gun shop just sold. It looked to me like the grip had been improved over the years. The sharp edges had been cleaned up. It had a brake, but no idea of how good a brake. A buddy bought a 243 first, then went to the 6.5 Grendel that he seems to like even better.
I have a 357 Maximum rechambered by White, and a 50 Muzzle Loader Handgun. Both shoot very well, and every CVA I have had my hands on had a good trigger.

CVA needs to offer a 7-08 with a brake that really works well like a Four Gill Harrell's.
The 243 and 6.5 Grendel both should be very good options. The 300BO needs a longer barrel offering.

I have never worked with a 350 Legend. No reason that it should not work well in a Single Shot Handgun. It is pretty much a 300 HAM'R in 356 Caliber. I have a 300 HAM'R and really like it. I am sure that a 350 Legend would work very well also.

We had a couple ar15 running the 350 with 160-170gr bullets with us this year. They are pretty effective from a 16" barrel. The 160+ grain loads come close to 357max velocity/energy.
I own a an Encore pistol in 243 with 15" barrel it's fun to shoot, stupid loud and slings 80gr Speer hot-cor into tiny groups. Absolutely no complaints about it, I've been wanting a maximum for years but the legend ammo is available everywhere.
