I'm giving up on restocking my RL26 stash and looking at N560 and curious if anyone has played much with it? I have a 6x47 Lapua shooting the 115 Berger's and it scoots with RL26…. I have N570 and N565 and love it so I'm looking at grabbing 8lbs of n560 to try but wanted to see if anyone has any first had experience

It's not a drop in replacement. Powder density is different so that alone will give you different performance. But they're not far off. RL26 will generally outrun it in the magnums.

Like 6mm Remington? I have a feeling you won't be able to get enough of either of those in there to achieve what you want. I doubt RL26 is the best powder for that cartridge either.
Talked to guys at Capstone on this and N560 is more temp stable than N565. I bought some N560 to try in 6 Remington Ackley and 7-06 Ackley but haven't tested yet. N160 works well in 6 Ackley
N560 gave me higher velocity in 280AI and 30-06AI than RL-23. I haven't used RL-26. I was getting velocities at the top of the spectrum, but within the range of published data with the N560. People seem to claim velocities that are hard to believe with RL-26. From that perspective I assume that N560 won't quite reach the same velocities. Even so, it was quite the performer for me. Good price too.

i use it(n-560) my modern 6.5x55 rifles and .260 remingtons with great results.

I use it neck and neck with rl26 in my tests running a 6.5 Prc. Just a slightly less charge was similar results. Seems worth it to me to give it try. It is a bigger and thicker kernel so load density could cause a guy to volume out before pressuring out
IMO... N560 is Not a replacement. Maybe N565 or N568 ??

N560 behaves a bit differently with heavy for caliber bullets and, with it's temp sensitivity, can surprise you with pressure in a worse way than RL26 on a hot day.

Interesting…. I never had temp issues with RL26, -20 to 70 degrees in WY, but never got really hot.. to be honest, I've never experienced temp issues/variations with any powders.
As I said, I have n565, I have a RUM that I'm starting load work on and was told its twin shined with n565 so I grabbed a 8lb jug of it. When reading all the reviews, it seemed 560 was more suited for the 6x47 and possibly 7-08 (having built now) and both will run heavy bullets for their size..
Truthfully I just want to be done with the powder game and stock pile for this rifle so I don't get in the RL26 pinch I've been in for the last year or two..,
Even though I have plenty of R26, Ive found that N560 works amazing in 7prc with 170HHTs, same speed, more stable and readily available.
It's in the first post- 6x47 lapua. I had tried a half dozen powders from 4350/varget/1000/25/22 etc and 26 was the clear winner for non compressed speed with the 109's and 115's. Amazing velocity and accuracy and no pressure…. There's a reason it's the most talked about powder made. Anyways. No need to beat a dead horse talking about RL26.
N560 published data for the 109's is close to what I was seeing when reading data for 6xc..
