I am reaching out to see if anyone has any ideas. I have a Redding Competition Seater die that the paint is wearing off the lines and numbers. It makes it very hard to see. I have tried taking some white artist paint and painting over the whole area and then wiping the excess off before it dries. Just hoping that the white paint will remain in the recessed lines. I've had no luck. The markings are way to fine to try and paint them in by hand. So, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

Contact Redding, they might do it for you for free or replace it. You'll never what they might do for you unless you try.

I'm sure they will replace it. Those folks are great and stand behind their products.
I called them about an issue I had with a die that I didn't buy new, but secondhand.
They cheerfully sent me a new one and refused to take any payment.
You can't beat that from any of the reloading manufacturers.

I had a Redding die inducing .010 neck runout. After a lengthly phone conversation I was told to send it back. Didnt get a replacement. I had to call them back and ask what they did. Was told they reworked the neck. I still induced .002 runout. Cant hurt to ask though

Couple things I found out. I tried the fine point white paint marker and the fine point was not fine enough. Also, my hand was not steady enough to stay inside the lines. Painting the whole area, letting it dry, and rubbing the extra off with steel wool does seem to be the best solution and worked fairly well. Thanks Fseamen. I also discovered that the micrometer tops are interchangeable from one die to the next. I have a bullet seater for a .38 special / .357 magnum that I seldom use and the micrometer is in excellent condition. My seater die for the .30-06 is the one that the paint was wearing off on. I use this one frequently. So I interchanged the micrometers and all is well in my world again.
