Shot my 270 Remington 700 ADL with 24 inch barrel at the range today and found my recipe. I am going to run 20 and make sure it's repeatable and make scope adjustments.

130 gr Sierra SBT Gameking
55 gr IMR4350 (max load)
Federal 210 primer
Remington brass

That's a three shot group at 100 yards! The others grains below and above where nowhere as tight.

I had a 270 Douglas barrel, mauser .33/40 action, shot lights out, just like yours, had a Monte Carlo stock , a worker stole it from my safe who lives in Lakeview MI, but can't prove it, Love that gun. Bottom feeder guy.

The .270 was made to use just that bullet weight and powder.
You have a shooter. Congratulations.
The 140 grain Hornady don't group nearly as good as the Sierra. I tried the Interbond and SST and don't get anywhere near the accuracy the Sierra has given me. I am sure this will be a great deer round.

My dad gave me his pre 64 win 270 and I will be doing load development in the near future. I'm curious, what was your col?
My 270 has a synthetic stock that I modified. There are a lot of voids in the stock. I added 8 oz of bb's spread through the fore-end and another 8 oz to the stock. Then I covered them with black self leveling driveway caulk that turns to rubber when cured. The gun now weighs about 11 pounds which reduced recoil and improves accuracy. I also put a Limbsaver recoil pad on it like my other rifles. My 270 kicks like a 22 now. I put a Limbsaver on my 300 Win Mag and what a difference it made.

My 270 was stole years ago, don't have the info on COL any more, so sorry, but do remember I shoot my loads 30 to 60 tho of the lands, usually start at around 15 off and work myself up to what shoots, then work with the powder loads, what ever he likes is how many grains I load.

Classic combo, I've used that load in various 270's for 46 years. If the group is basically repeatable you're golden. I suspect it'll be a good consistent 3/4 " or less load for you. Plenty good
You had the inside scoop on the 130 TGKs (Gamechangers) for 46 years and never shared? I thought we were all bros here.
