I have not heard of this method of removing quills. Have you actually done this and it works?When your dogs get quilled the best way to remove them humanely is to use scissors to trim the end of the quill. This will un-trip the barb that is keeping the quill stuck in the flesh, or skin. Trim all of them then easily remove them with pliers.

Thanks for the reply. We seem to be at the epicenter of the porcupine invasion in the San Antonio/Kerrville area. I have killed 15 so far and they just keep coming. They are like pigs.I've heard of the same technique, but fortunately have not needed to try it.
