Let’s see some coyotes!

First stand of the year. Had another come in 5 min before this one but it busted me before I laid eyes on him.

Good trap check the other day. Did pick up a rooster with my 28 ga that happened to run into a tiny slough while I was in between sets. Seems like I need to clear out badgers to get to coyotes. They are hell on my sets. Picked up 4 in the last two checks. Got permission on another 6000 acres to rifle hunt after the neighbors found out I was trapping coyotes. Could trap those acres after deer season if I was so inclined but I'd rather start calling.

This guy was in my backyard yesterday. I'd put in some sets if I wouldn't catch every neighborhood dog.

Are badger pelts worth anything ?

Badgers used to be used for parka trim as the fur didn't break with the frost from your breathing when you caught a fur badger, the hair badgers were used in making artist paint brushes. They are hard to skin and need fleshed and flat stretched.

These badgers probably aren't worth much. I'm really trying to get rid of a few predators on my in laws farm to help out the nesting birds and deer. We've trapped over 25 raccoons off 40 acres and I've picked up 4 badgers three coyotes and a skunk within a half mile of the home place. There's fur everywhere as no one traps anymore.

Got to see what the eld-vt does this morning. i couldn't see the entry hole until I dug around but the exit is easy to find haha. He gave me time to get out of my pickup while checking cattle and sit there at 89 yards. Running the 80 Gr vts out of my 6GT. I haven't done any load testing just threw a few together to shoot. I have them at 33.5 gr of varget. He didn't go anywhere but he spun around for about 5 seconds before falling
