no room for covers.......
Unfortunately true
Getting a scope as close as possible to the barrel is such a 1980s way of thinking. Get it to where your head is in a comfortable position with a proper cheekweld no matter where the scope is height wise. All modern software allows for scope height above the centerline of bore.
I understand that just didn't want to buy rings if not needed. Cheekweld is not perfect but close enough for this one.
Thanks!

In some rifles, the scope (rings ) height can impact ejection. Empties were hitting the windage knob on my scope with low rings. Had to switch them out to medium height rings. Just something to think about.
Didn't give that a thought. Gonna shoot it when the rain quits. I'll keep an eye out for that. Thanks!

I was taught to always mount the scope as low as possible, a credit card thickness clearance is ample.
These rails and rings that mount the scope an inch above the barrel are just wrong. I have sent back numerous mounts for this reason.
I also don't like rails that impede on ejection, whoever thought this design above the ejection port has no common sense…

Cheers.

Man, I thought this was a scope sale when I clicked on it.
On a side note. I like them as close to the barrel as I can get them. If I can see daylight between the bell and the barrel, I'm happy. I don't shoot great big magnums so I've never had a problem with scope flex
