I've dusted plenty of 180 ELDMs in an 8 twist, I'll never use those particular bullets in an 8 twist again. Plenty of people are having great results with 9 twist.
Agreed. Talk to Frank. He's a wealth of info and wants you to have a positive experience.I would get a 1-8" to run 180's. Throat condition could cause the bullets to come apart in mid flight too. Which is why I chose a 7mm Rem Mag. I can load it as hot or mild as I want. And with the 180gr ELDM's I let the BC do the work. I'd speak to a good barrel marker like Frank Green of Bartlein barrels on the subject.
Bonded bullets are nearly impossible to spin apart in flight. My old burnt out 7rum was shooting 160 Accubond at 3350 with Retumbo powder I never had one of them come apart until it hit its target and mushroomed. It killed many elk in its life. It has now been reincarnated to a 300 PRC for my nephew
