This is my first experience with the micro chassis. It shoots fine now, pretty much .4-.5 in a 6.5cm Proof CF barrel in an Imapct action. Should I bed it?

This is a question that has crossed my mind too and I would love to hear the answer on.

That said, I also own one of these stocks, it remains as I got it new from Manners

I've shot a few different mini chassis/ chassis/ bedding blocks. I've personally felt every one of them could have benefitted from bedding. That being said all mine have been magnum cartridges. I have had good luck with xlr element on this particular subject but the largest was a 6.5 prc.

Read the last post on this thread. This is from a top smith

The whole point of the mini chassis is "bolt and go". I have 4 manners with the mini chassis - although not the micro chassis. All of them shoot very well. I see no reason to have them bedded.

A very respected builder told me his success rate with them was 50%.
So he bedded mine…

*This a 5 shot group this afternoon, forming brass. No lie, no BS. With the weapon I mentioned above.

Rifle builders HATE mini chassis. It costs them $400 for a bedding job. You buy a chassis when you don't want to bed.

Not sure what you're chasing but, you will have a chore trying to get under half inch groups. The accuracy you state, IF true, is fine for anything. If you want better accuracy, take the Proof off, install a truck axle steel barrel and bed it, you will then have an F-Class rifle.

Can't speak for the LRH, but I have used the Manners mini-chassis in two of the PRS stocks for a couple years now in several calibers - largest was 6 PRC. I don't know if they would benefit from bedding, but they all shot very well. I could see where larger calibers may benefit, but I still feel like the weak link of the "chain" - not the stock.
