Had a thought last night. Wondered if anyone has ever tried a 7mm 195 in a 300 Blk Out? My brain was just wondering about highest BC possible in a 200 gr bullet to minimize drop at 100 -200 yards.
I was thinking on the lines of both subsonic and supersonic ammo. Mainly subs.
BC not gonna help much at 100 in a sub?
Just pondering.

Go with the 245 in 308. But the high BC won't help much at those speeds and the bullet probably won't expand. There are better bullets for subsonic in 308 or 284 caliber.

Sub sonic ballistics baffle me sometimes. I admit I haven't educated myself enough to understand the physics of it so I might be full of crap. What I see is the biggest difference is the mass of the bullet would make the biggest difference. I haven't understood the use for light sub bullets. I would think one would want a heavy bullet for the most momentum. I want to put together a 45-70 for subs.

What? 7mm bullet in a 30 cal barrel?

Or did you mean some type of custom chambering?
Custom twist. Neck down a 300 blk out. So yes a custom chambering.
I was just thinking the 195 7mm had a lot higher bc than a lot of the 200ish 308 bullets available. Subsonic might not make any difference if you did have a higher bc. Which is what some others are saying in this thread.
