It will fit nicely in a medium length action, for sure.
Just got done shooting my 25SS, it's in an XM.

I am pretty sure I'm running around 2725fps with the 180, 18" barrel, 7828ssc. I'm playing with the 300 Mega now so, it's been a while since I shot that 7ssLast one I did was a short action Apollo lite with a 22inch benchmark... h4350 and 162 hornady bullets was mid 2900s
Two 7 sheman max's, both 20", both showed about the same max velocity. 175 eld-x maxed out at around 2900ish with N565, that killed brass in 2-3 fireings. Accuracy and useable load around 2800. Add about 75-100 fps for a 160 mono vs the 175 eld-x, so 2875-2900. Add 20-30 fps/inch. Take away some for the ss vs the max. I would say at least a 24" with the ss to get to 3000, if you want your brass to last more than 3 rounds. 26" would be a safer bet.Hey all. What barrel length and chamber freebore would I need to get a 160cx going 3000fps or more with the 7ss cartridge? Thanks!
I cant speak for a mono bullet…but I can for a 162ELDHey all. What barrel length and chamber freebore would I need to get a 160cx going 3000fps or more with the 7ss cartridge? Thanks!

That's impressive! I built a 26 nosler that hovered around those speeds with 13gr more powder. Thanks for sharing!6.5 max, ran a velo ladder with a new action at 500.
28" Brux 7.5tw
Web measured .551 on each one… I just didn't go higher.
My sons 6.5 SS is 2975-3000fps with the 156 EH, H1000. I shared your report with him. He's very impressed. We both shot deer this weekend with our Sherman wildcats!I had a Titanium action for it previously, got obvious pressure at 150-175fps less speed.

I used the 300 Mega with the 208 LRHT. Don't say it; I'm testing this bullet to see how it's going to perform in various shot situations. 100 yards, 2600fps impact, 3000ft-lbs. I thought it might explode on impact like a standard hybrid, but this bullet is pointed and looks like it started to tumble. It dusted the ground about 25 yards behind the deer. I'll try to upload video.
European mount LOL.The taxidermist has the only issue I see.
