This is Jason's first Bull Elk using a 214gr Hammer Hunter Bullet out of his Proof 300 PRC. Shot at 419 yards Jason said, "he took 3 steps and was down." He also commented, "at 200 yards it constantly shoots 1/2" groups with a muzzle velocity averaging 3059 FPS."
Good shooting, eating, and thanks for sharing your hunt.

Any recommendations for the 30 Nosler? I've only shot factory ammunition but I am getting into reloading. My rifle seems to like 200gr bullets well. But I wanna fine tune it and see what it really likes and shoots best.

I loaded 199 HH in my son's 30 Nos and it loved them. It shot 215 bergers very well also, but I just thought I'd try the hammers. Loaded 10 rounds with H1000 with 2 rounds each at 1/2 grain intervals. Speeds ranged from 3139 to 3287 fps and the last 7 rounds went into a .625" group! When I switched from Nosler brass to ADG, had to drop down a full grain. My son has taken several animals with them, including a nice eland.
