That is the theory. I shoot a lot as PRS competitor. I was running a 6XC a few years ago knowing it was near end of life - at start of match I chronographed and velocity was down about 50 fps - at 600 yards I started having issues with good impacts then a flyer 2 foot away. Pulled that barrel after the match.Oh that's interesting….so as the throat degrades velocity drops off then? Is that basically from throat erosion having created some "freebore" that drops chamber pressure with equal charge weights?
