I have lighter rifles for stalking. I actually had a 6.5 PRC loaded with rounds and a sling was 7# 11oz, but now it wears a heavier stock at 8# 14oz ready to roll. I gave it a little in the kaboose to shoot a little easier.

My Tikka 300 win mag without ammo weighs 8.8 pds. My C.A. Ridgeline 6.5 PRC weighes 9 pds. Both have Luepold 4x24 VX6 on them. I take the 300 wm when I hunt North or South Fork. I'd just rather have it in case of griz.

I need to "buff up" a bit I guess, I carry mine a lot more than I shoot it…. I have to tolerate the recoil! 😜 memtb

Running the numbers, using your Berger info, that would be very shootable! I'm getting 37.5 ft/lbs recoil with that data.

Mine is on the edge of too much weight @ 9 lbs. 1 oz……all up! memtb

This is the original version of that same rifle. 8# 12 oz ready to roll. No brake. Shot 180 Accubombs well.

Shane, you have me weighing rifles now ! 😆 Have to do on bathroom scale though. 🙄 My 300 RUM 13.0 pds.. I took the VX6 4X24 off it and put on Tikka to save weight. Put the Vortex Viper II 5x25 on the RUM. I took the CDS dial off i had made for the 215 Berger and had one made for the Tikka w/182 HHT.

I had it reversed . The Tikka 300 WM was 9.0 pds. The C.A. 6.5 PRC Ridgeline was 8.8 pds. I weighed the Weatherby Vangaurd 300 wm. 10.4 pds. My Ruger M77 7 RM is 10.2 pds. I always have a bipod on my rifle when hunting. That, sling and ammo add up.
