Ruger American predator 25-06

Have a savage axis 25-06 it loves 117gr with a stout charge of retumbo. I'll definitely have to try some h4831 and the sc version.
RETUMBO will get you there, but it will be compressed. N-560 will wake it up also.
I have a older M695 Tikka and a custom built 25-06 on a Mauser 98 action 26" bull barrel. Both are tack drivers.
Keep us posted.

I'm going to try n560 and n570 since it's pretty easily available where I'm at

Just read over on the Ruger forum that these were a VERY limited run and only made for a "handful of distributors" back in 2014-2015. Never really made available to the public. You have yourself a unicorn there! 👍
New to the forum!

I purchased one for my wife to use until my son was old enough to hunt. Well, wife never used it so it's been sitting in the cabinet for nearly 10 years and has only been shot maybe 5 times.

My son is now old enough and will begin hunting with it in a few weeks.

Are the Ruger American 25-06 really that that rare?

Please disregard the post above as I was mistaken. It's the Hawkeye, not the American.

Which still makes me wonder… is the Hawkeye in 25-06 uncommon as well?

I wouldn't call them uncommon but you don't see them as often as other standard chamberings. On my local classifieds for every 20 or so m77s I see maybe 1 is a 25-06.

Makes sense. You don't see too many of them anymore. I love my Cooper and would like to pick up another .25-06 but I really prefer a 24" barrel. I think Sako made a Finnlight a decade or so back that was nice but I think it was 22". Anyway it still would be nice to pick one up that's lighter than my Cooper. Might look around for a clean A-Bolt from the early/mid 90's. They were prettty nice back then.

I'm a 25-06 addict I buy every one I see. Ive got a couple rugers a m77 mk2, Hawkeye, and American predator. They all shoot great the American shoots the best out of the 3 but all shoot 1/2 inch or less 3 shots at 100.
