375 winchester loads?

He has a Savage 99 in 375 Win. He does not need a flat point bullet for tubular fed. But would guess he should be around 200 gr. possibly 220 gr bullet. I bought some Hammers to try. Just haven't got around to it yet.

Go to a few estate sales that advertise reloading supplies. Great way to pick up used reloader manuals. And possibly components for pennies on the dollar. Just know how much you're willing to pay for something. A new manual may run you anywhere from $20 to $40. I have picked up 2 to 3 manuals for around $10.00. They may be older but they offer good info on loads you may have a hard time finding these days. Like the caliber you are using 375 Win.

That is a good point but not a bad idea to have some to try. I have tried the Hammer 137 grain in an Encore will be trying the 165 next. I have access to 3 .375 Winchesters, a Marlin, a Conteder Super 14 and the Encore with a 26" barrel. Need to get time to play before deer season.

Long time fan of the 375 Win. I have had three. Only have one Marlin today. But its a favorite!

Mine lives on a diet of my cast over RL7 @ about 1900 fps.
Back when I used jacketed the Sierra 220 over full case of RL7 netted closer to 2200. Very efficient on deer n hogs.

The 375 is easy ta load and Imho a good choice as a first rifle cartridge.

Cases can be made from any of the 30/30 based cartritages from 25/35, 7/30,30/30, or 38/55 ooh and 32Spl But know 375 cases are thicker webbed. So if pushing things, work up slow.

I had a Contender 14 & 21" that I was very fond of.

One of the best things ever written about the 375 Win and 38-55 parent.

It is spot on. I have 375 factory brass but my hunting loads are made from necked up 30-30. I also have a couple of 38-55s so I save the 38-55 headstamped brass for them as they were made in 1894 and 1897, so I load them to much lower pressures and use soft cast bullets.

In your 99 a 200 or 220 grain spire point would work great.

I tell you what--just trade me 99 and I'll get you something easier to reload...
