I made it a point this last season to take every deer with a suppressed subsonic round. The first is a buck I shot in the head with a 168gr subsonic .308WIN at 100yds, and the second is a doe headshot with a subsonic cast 250gr .44Mag at 50yds. Let's just say that they didn't know what hit them, and I didn't have to do any tracking.
My next firearm that will take a deer is an 8.6BLK that I built 2 years ago, and I'll be using 350gr Maker Bullets.

As mentioned before, tactical reticles are a BIG plus ( I consider them a necessity) for shooting subsonic at varying ranges. So is a rangefinder if you don't already know the ranges. I use SWFA or Sightron STAC with MOA5 reticle. The Christmas tree reticles are way too busy for me.

Just got my first 300BO upper for my AR and before asking around I bought some factory loaded Hornady Sub-X 190gr ammo.
I don't want to have to experiment with a bunch of different magazines to find what works best. I've read that some magazines cause feed problems with this bullet.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just used 20 round .223 metal mags in mine and they feed fine. I have also used Pmags
without issue. Only issues occur with over or under gassing.

I want to say I was using the regular pmag with the 190 Subx ammo. Never had a hiccup.

The season is getting closer! Loaded up more of the maker 200 gr REX projectiles to check accuracy between IMR 4227 and N110 in my 300 BLK.
I have 4 doe whitetail tags for Wyoming this year, unfortunately the season doesn't open until mid Oct. I do have a doe antelope tag that goes live on 9/1, so might use the 300 BLK if distance allows.

Thanks.... It appears that they make a Gen 3 mag now specially designed for the 300BO.
Now if I could only find a 5 round mag to comply with Florida hunting laws... <sigh>

I have found some 5 round mags but they also make mag limiters to go in the larger mags

I loaded up some Hornady 410 gr sub X bullets with Unique. Most load data I saw called for 10 grains, but 14 gr put me at 1020+/-
Pretty accurate in my Henry X but haven't had any pig encounters with it yet.
I'd really like to SBR that gun. I think they look cool as anything! Plus a bit easier to maneuver as a truck gun.
