Any motorsickle riders on LRH?

I rode for many years. Almost always rode "Rice Rockets". My buddy and I built turbo engines for our bikes and when we rode, we rode FAST! Oddly enough, I never got caught by the PD and never crashed, despite doing speeds that no one would believe. I sold my last speedster before I killed myself on it and the guy who bought it only ran it on a track with wheely bars.

Eventually, I bought a fully dressed Honda Aspencade so my wife would actually get on a bike with me. We drove that bike all over the place before we settled down and started a family.
 
..only for 50 years. Still have two classics, 67 Honda 305 super hawk and a 1978 Honda 750F....

My older brother had a blue 1966 ish Honda 300 Dream that I rode a lot when I was about 13. I made a lot of runs to see girls on that thing. We grew up early back in the day. During my junior year of high school, a Honda 750 was my main mode of transportation.

My first bike was a 1965 Honda Trail 90 that I bought when I was 10 years old with my own money that I earned cowboying... I ran that poor thing into the ground. It looked just like this:

That baby had some pull when you hit the gas!

That was before Crotch Rockets .
 
For several years during my 40's and 50's I owned these 4 bikes at the same time. I guess it was quite a variety of motorcycles, now that I look back at it.
I had owned Suzuki GS street bikes during the late 70's/early 80's when they dominated the 1/4 mile but with a 220 mph top speed that was governed to 186 mph, the Hayabusa was a whole different animal! It would do 115 mph in 1st gear, and had 5 more gears...

Despite this, the Honda 450R supercrosser was probably the most adrenaline inspiring machine I ever owned. The shear power of the big 4 stroke in such a light package was an incredible rush to ride, and you simply could not gas on it and keep both wheels on the ground. It's the only thing I ever sold because I knew it would help me hurt myself. It was about like bull riding... it was just a matter of time...

That is absolutely insane.
It was an insanely powerful and fast, yet very manageable machine. It was built in a wind tunnel, and cruised at 150-175 mph with ease, comfort, and stability. The downside is that they were extremely dangerous for novice riders, because the bike did not feel like you were traveling as fast as you were and those guys would run right up on something before they knew it.

The scariest thing of all to me is when a grown man starts riding a motorcycle as a beginner... Some pull it off safely, but far too many guys end up proving that this is a sport best taken up as a kid, with your riding/survival skills being honed over a lifetime.
