I was a psyched to get a cow tag for Wyoming this year.
Was going for the second drawing for reduced price.

Then the car broke down. $2,000 unplanned expenditure.

PA released their lottery "drawing".
Computer generated and completely unhackable of course.

I was not one of the 140 chosen.

So I'm loading up on deer tags.

Good luck to those of you hunting elk this year!

Might have to take some beer & visit @Frank in the Laurels and shoot the other bull.

Sorry to here of your misfortune!

On the bright side, at least you drew "a" tag. We (wife and I) live here and can't draw a cow/calf tag in our preferred area to hunt……5 years running now! 🤬 memtb
lol a Wyoming resident complaining about big game tags! That might be a first! Come join the rest of us in the other western states! 🤕

Our hunting license includes small game, fall turkey, spring gobler, and 1 buck during rifle season.

Archery, early muzzleloader, late flintlock, bear, furbearer tags are extra, and can be purchased online or at the counter.

Elk tag is $11 and change to get in the lottery.

Doe tags are done in 3 rounds and there are certain amounts for each Wildlife Management Unit (WMU).
Starting last year we could get these over the counter or online.
Cost is $6.95.

After the 3 rounds are done, you can purchase the leftovers.

Then we have DMAP (Deer Management Access Program.
They only apply for certain WMUs, or certain state gamelands, state forests, and private property that participates in the program.
Good for 1 doe per DMAP tag.
Cost is $10.95 if I recall correctly.

You're allowed to have up to 6 tags at one time.

I was able to get 3rd round doe tags for me and the kids before they sold out today. We have lots of tags now, kids will keep me busy this year.
Pa elk won't ever happen, ive come to accept the fact, but they will still get my donation every year....

I picked up 2 Antlerless tags which will help fill the freezer.
I keep donating to the elk draw but I'm not nearly lucky enough to ever draw it.
BTW…. Not sure where you are in PA std7mag but I still have some elk meat from my trip last year and would give you a little care package. Feel free to pm me if you are interested.

Birddog 68,

That is mighty generous of you!
I still have some deer meat from last year. Not too much, but still have some.
The hearts & livers are gone though.

While I do appreciate your generosity, I really don't want to impose like that.

I wouldn't offer if it was a imposition.
I am sorry about your luck with the vehicle. It's definitely not like the old days where a couple hundred bucks would probably fix it.
Deer hearts are always cooked fresh at my house with some morels that I picked in the spring. Yum yum!
