Running low on H4350 and ordering more. I friend is singing the praises of Alliant Reloader 16 as being better. I am loading 65. Creedmore, 9.3x74R, 30.06.

H4350 has been doing well. Should I make a change?

Back in May, there were posts on forums or other gun sites about Alliant stopping the sale of powder. You might be well stocked up... Just something to point out.

Example:

in a 243w and 6.5 creed it has been the most temp stable powders i have tested in that burn rate, 0.37fps from low 20s with single digit windchill to 85 with high humidity. velocity's are also pretty good usually beating 4350.
best velocity's for 30-06 with 180 B-tip 2750 in brothers gun with a slower recoil, more push and less punch.

I have RL16 back when you could not find H4350, they are burning the same, temp stable, if 4350 is doing great for you no since in switching, plus have you looked at RL powder price increases?? I am seeing a pound of it running 66.99, you can get H4350 cheaper.

H4350 is usually more accurate. R-16 gets you more speed. I'll take the accuracy with H4350 which is readily available over Alliant powders.
For me and my rifle, I did not see a difference in accuracy, but that is just my 6.5 Creed, I have not tried it in anything else. 2019 no H4350 but RL16 everywhere, 2024, hardly any RL16 and H4350 everywhere.

That doesn't say much about the powder because 6.5 Creedmoor's are a joke IMO when it comes to accuracy lol. I had one, and I was not impressed with it and dumped it for another 6mm. The 6mm Creedmoor is a good cartridge though. 6.5 is meh IMO and over hyped.

Both are great powders, I have some guns that like one more than the other, but most of my loads are with H4350. Agreed, R16 will get a little more speed. Current price of H4350 is about a $100 less per keg, so I'm not buying R16 anymore...

Okay, i have a 6 Creed as well, just have not finished the build to test it out.

In the creed H4350 is the original powder and most accurate. If you want to stretch it out R26. Yea I know unobtanium.

I use it in both 6.5 CM's I load for. Temp stable for summer here in FL. Speeds are just a tad faster than H4350 for me. It shot well in a 6 CM I had for a while too.

Was it an inaccurate barrel or is the 6.5 creed an inaccurate cartridge? Because I'm pretty sure I know the answer and it has nothing to do with the diameter of bullet.
