What are you planing to hunt this fall ?

Yeah it's crazy that fire practically started in my back yard finally getting it to slow down thankfully but it's burning through an area that holds some good bucks so hopefully they were able to get out
Hope and pray yall get rain.I lived in alaska 12 yeara with fires every year .I just felt govt didbt try to put them out early enough .I wish they would cut fire brakes again

New Country......
I don't like to hunt the same areas very often....I like to explore..afterall..I've a rifle in my hands..feel somewhat safe to just traipsing around wherever I end up....
Never know what you might encounter out there......

Fall turkey, squirrel and then whitetail deer in Ky. Added another private land site to hunt this year. Hoping to reduce some of the pressure on deer on my property. Last year the woods around me were crazy full of hunters on all sides. Passed on a small doe on opening day and only saw 2 spikes after that. Normally can pick and choose a decent size doe any year.

Drew tags for cardboard, some sporting clays and got and over the counter tag for a big steel gong.....

Gonna be a lame one, nobody in my group drew anything except a local cow moose. Not planning any big hunts nor helping with any, kinda a lame winter shaping up.

Always chase various grouse and Ptarmigan, might try getting down south to chase something otc. Between the cost of taking the boat and all my friends kids getting to the busy age, makes for occasional slim year.

No blacktail hunting?

Nah. Combination of harsh winter and rather astounding pressure from the "not guide" boats have the numbers down. No sense in adding my pressure to it, as it's not my favorite foodstuffs. Honestly the last half dozen years I've been camp cook keeping an eye on the boat and running folks to and from the beach.

This season looks like "one of those seasons", be a foot race to see if the fish loose interest before I do. Gonna take the abnormally early fall to maybe wander to the artic, haven't spent any time in the high artic and would like to see what's wandering around.

White tail, black bear, turkey, squirrel, rabbit in VA WV. I hunt 99% for meat and enjoyment. Bear is usually by opportunity. On our property I prefer to keep trophy buck and top doe breeding until they get past their prime. Then I like to let new young shooters take the bucks as I feel it has far more value. I get such joy seeing their reactions with the wide eye look huge smile and the pride when they show their parents & family. Getting to take home that nice rack.

We are blessed in that we hardly eat any store bought meat.

I sure would love an opportunity to hunt Elk 1 more time out west. Have not in 20 yrs. Simply can not in good conscience budget the $$ outfitters ask these days vs on my childern and soon to be in Nov first grandchild. Maybe I can rationalize a eastern Canadian moose hunt as the costs are more reasonable if you factor it as meat costs.

Still I am happy and blessed to have the opportunities I do have. People with far less that have true needs.

I am just going to hunt deer black bear and hogs this fall .I hope it cools off this fall this has been the worse summer ever .I am still using my climbing treesstand and i will be 62 in nov .I hope the acorns make good this year like they did last year .I hope all of yall have an awesome hunting srason and stay safe and fill your freezer.I hope i got all the kinks ironed out in this new kimber 6.5 and hope to get a good muzzlebreak on my 338 win mag so i can keep using it.
You have a lot of Hoping going on , and sure has been a warm summer, we get em time to time, Enjoy your hunts.

Going to get this season started early, going to South Africa for a week of plains game, leaving tomorrow with a good friend from this site. Later on some small game and bow hunting for white tails here, then rifle in OK, and then back home for a couple weeks of rifle hunting white tail at home.
