I am just going to hunt deer black bear and hogs this fall .I hope it cools off this fall this has been the worse summer ever .I am still using my climbing treesstand and i will be 62 in nov .I hope the acorns make good this year like they did last year .I hope all of yall have an awesome hunting srason and stay safe and fill your freezer.I hope i got all the kinks ironed out in this new kimber 6.5 and hope to get a good muzzlebreak on my 338 win mag so i can keep using it.

Wife Karen and I have Zone 68 tags for the Lander One Shot Antelope Hunt. We have made this hunt every year since 1995, with the exception of the 'Covid' year, and the year we went to Tanzania for a month.... Guess you could say 68 is our favorite - although we've hunted 106 and 67 before with great success.

We also have unlimited Cow/Calf Elk tags in some unstated region in Wy.

We are blessed, indeed!

Along side my normal pheasant and whitetail hunting and muskie fishing, I'll be going on my first ever elk hunt in the Idaho panhandle.

I've heard it's a generally hard area to hunt due to low elk population, wolves and hunting pressure, but I'm going to give it my all regardless and hope to scratch out a shot. If anyone has tips on how to hunt in the panhandle, I'm all ears. The dense cover has me scratching my head.

Cheers!

I'll be up for elk in the panhandle this fall too. There's plenty of good clear cuts to focus your efforts on, the panhandle is a big zone so you should be able to branch out. I see you're from Iowa, grew up and spent the first 21 years of my life there.

Tons of road hunters up there, if you're willing to put in the leg work you can get into some pockets that aren't pressured. I'd also put a wolf tag in your pocket, they're really cheap. Good look with the ringnecks, sure miss those late October weekends!
I already got a wolf tag, the price is definitely right.
