6mm sporter type SS barrel

Looking for a 6 mm barrel.
Cut Rifle/stainless steel
1.75 or 1.8 twists
Finish at ~22"
.670-700 at muzzle

If you're talking about the PBB barrel and the post I put up I'm calling them after I test tomorrow morning with various powder and if it doesn't shoot well I'm hoping they will give me my money back

Don't hold your breath on that one. You can always rechamber with a shorter throat. I have a 6CM 7 twist and ran 115 DTACS. Burnt up the throat and had it rechambered with a shorter throat for hunting. It's a Lazer with 101gr hammers.

I had a 30" cut rifle barrel chambered in 6 BRA. Using H4895, at 1100 rounds, it started throwing shots. At 1400, it was toast for target use. I started measuring the bore dia, and I had to cut the barrel down to 22" to get into what looked like new bore, but the bore was still .001 over muzzle dia.

It will be a Hail Mary, hope and pray on a re chamber.

Would H4895 be considered as hard or harder on bores than Varget?

I always thought it was how hot your load is. Shoot no more than 10 rounds and let it cool.

Depends on several other variables which make it difficult to qualify a good answer. But in general those two powders can be considered to be similar. Both burn hotter than a few other possibilities.

I have two Bartlein 30", 6mm barrels supposedly from the same mill run. Both are chambered for the 6 BRX cartridge but using two different bullets, the Hornady 110 A-Tip and the last of my Berger 108 EOL. I am driving both bullets with VVN-160, a cooler burning powder so I lose a tiny bit of velocity. I have to watch a little harder with wind calls but my targets at 1,000 yards are still somewhat competitive so I don't worry.

I am not an overly aggressive barrel cleaner but I do check with a borescope and have for 30 years. I'm not seeing a large disparity in first 6" in front of the chamber and the next 10" in front of that. No rapid fire, I don't run conditions.

Of course, this is partially true. That barrel that I mentioned above was never shot hot, and was a Bartlein barrel. The type of powder used, the heat Index of that powder, the amount, and bore dia all come into play.

This is a #3 contour it might be a little on the small side at 22" but they have #4 in stock as well.

Thank you, yes i saw those just trying to find one on LRH and hopefully save a few bucks…in case I have to eat this PBB barrel
