Huskemaw scope

They were an OK choice……

15 years ago. At this point I don't think they are even relevant. The zero stop on the blue diamond's is a joke, glass isn't great, weird .33 moa adjustments, no illumination etc. If they were priced at about 30% of what they are currently they might be ok. But they aren't.

Please elaborate

The glass is horrible, the turrets are gross. For a $2400 scope it's pretty much a useless brick. For a little bit more you can buy a nightforce Atacr or something of way higher quality. It's way easier to just create a range card than it is to buy turrets, the scope is a gimmick that I fell for.

I was pretty impressed with the one the guy was using on that Texas plinking at 1000 yard on YouTube. I'm not sure why you guys are having such issues? I've seen it work flawless out to 600 3-6" gongs. Maybe you didn't have the data right? That guy on Texas plinking elevation was spot on at 1000 if I remember correctly, been a while since I watched it and can't remember the episode. Doesn't matter to me really, I don't own one, don't plan on it

Yep you definitely hate it!
What kind of bargain deal would you make to get rid of it?

I guess it just depends on what you're after. My buddy that uses his wants quick target acquisition as where he hunts gets a lot of year over year pressure and the animals don't hang around long enough for click data. I made tape turrets for my older brother in his mid 60's who just wants the simplicity. Although it doesn't have the windage like the huskemah, he wouldn't shoot anything past 2-300 yards hunting but loves to shoot longer range targets. I just proofed the data on paper and marked the yards on his turrets ( I did a couple for him)

just found a deal on a used one a couple days ago that I couldn't pass on. Has turret marked for something useless for me. Called em up and for $50 plus shipping, they're sending me a moa turret and a data collection turret if I want to use that. Going to try it out this year.

Wow DanMan I have I have 6 of the Huskemaws and Maybe the glass is not perfect but that's why I have great Binos and spotter, a scope is to shoot with, as far as a brick ,the other scope you talked about are very heavy for sure. I have to say I do not shoot EXTREEM RANGES but I would almost bet out to 1300 yds , I can dope the wind and get a range and squeeze the trigger faster than you can. These scopes are made to do this, and they work. By the way, I have the other scopes and they are good but when someone says 725 yds I turn the turret dope wind shoot, not looking for range card in my pocket or somewhere else. It's EASY

My friend just bought another one that's just like his old one for his 30-378. It now has a lock ring to set a zero. Man, I don't think they spent a ton of money adding that feature but I guess as long as it works. One thing I want to check is how well I can see the mirage. If I remember correctly, I think it was cutting it which is nice for clarity but not very helpful. I have to say they put a lot of voodoo directions in with it. Oh well, I get to shoot his 30-378 again. I did the load work up on it and it's a fantastic rifle.

A friend of mine has one and killed a lot of elk and deer with it. Says longes shot was 652 yards on an elk. I did load work up on it for him with hammer bullets and he had a turret made that works on steel to 600 easy enough. I thought the glass was really good. That's all I have for experience with it. It's an older one
Did he shoot a few of those Elk and Deer too?
