The better PCPs are running 3K nowadays. That's a lot of $ for a pellet gun and short range, but they're a lot of fun.

There are some surprisingly good options for far less coin. But yes, if top of the line is where you wanna be, then it can get spendy.

Anything that expensive is not only above my pay grade but totally out of the realm of reality. Spending more money to accomplish the same thing isn't my idea of fun. Once a bullet passes through a squirrel's head, he can't tell the difference between a $160 rifle and $3000 unique custom.
Let's not forget, I started this thread to show rifles to put holes in squirrel's heads. In my mind, it benefits forum members to show the least expensive way to do this well.
As for the most expensive, most high-end custom rifles. That can be someone else's thread. Someone with more money who kills less squirrels 🤣

Tons of very nice pcp rifles for less than a lot of the .22's shown on here, and much quieter than any of them. And when you consider some people throwing a supressor on a .22 rimfire, many pcp air rifles are ridiculously cheaper.

The one other thing to consider with pcp air rifles that is worth it even if it is some more money than a .22 rimfire, how many times in the last 15 years have you seen the shelves void of any .22 ammo? I have never, ever not been able find as much ammo as I would ever want for my pcp rifle. A decent pcp .22, .25 or 30 cal will be just as accurate (or more accurate in cases) as most .22's, kill squirrels and other small game just as dead, be significantly quieter, be cheaper to shoot in the long run, be capable of shooting in a back yard if you live in a town, and allow you to shoot unrestricted amounts regardless of the current political climate. That is where the pcp's really shine.

It's like everything else in life, different people using different methods to accomplish the same end goal. No reason to refuse admission to people simply because of the method they choose or how much success they have.
